March 1, 2018 : The World Women Summit 2018 will be held at New
Delhi (India International Centre, 40 Lodi Estate, New Delhi)
with the theme "vocationalising women's careers" under the aegis
of the Women's Agency for Generating Employment (WAGE). Briefing
the press and media, the Director of WAGE Dr. Tanuja Trivedi
explained the importance of the World Women Summit 2018 being
organised on the auspicious occasion of the International
Women's Day.
She added that individuals, organisations and institutions
dedicated for the cause of women's development and empowerment
will be felicitated during the Summit. The list includes Prof.
Nupur Prakash, Vice Chancellor, Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical
University for Women; Dr. Namita Rajput, Principal (OSD), Sri
Aurobindo College (Evening), University of Delhi; Dr. Swati Pal,
Principal (Officiating), Janki Devi Memorial College; Dr. Mamta
Sharma, Principal, Aditi Mahavidyalaya;Dr. Babli Moitra Saraf,
Principal, Indraprastha College for Women; Dr Payal Mago,
Principal, Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for

Dr. Tanuja Trivedi also mentioned that the women from foreign
countries will be represented by the respective lady
Ambassadors, High Commissioners and female officials belonging
to international organisations, uninted nations and their
constituent units.
It may be mentioned that the Women's Agency for Generating
Employment (WAGE) has envisaged a new paradigm for solving all
problems of women by locating areas for strengthening the cause
of women's empowerment by involving them in the new and emerging
vocations including cleanliness, hygiene, sanitation, garbage
management, human rights promotion, pollution abatement, rural
and urban entrepreneurship besides providing them formal,
informal and nonformal training in the specialised areas of
health care systems and services.
